Say you need to multiply 8 with 9. First, you do 8-1=7. 7 is the first digit of the answer. Then you do 10-8=2. 2 is the second digit of your answer. So, the final answer is 72.

The formula for this trick is; you need to subtract 1 from the number that needs to be multiplied by 9. It gives you the first digit of the answer.   1. Multiplying Numbers with 0 at the End

Multiplying numbers with a lot of 0s at the tail can get confusing by the traditional method. So, here is a trick that can save the day and solve the question in just a few seconds. Let’s understand this with an example.

Say we have to calculate 400x60. To find the answer simply multiply 4 with 6. Write the answer and follow it up with all the 0’s after 4 and 6. In this case 4x6=24. There are two 0’s after 4 and one after 6, a total of three 0’s. So, the final answer is 24000.
